Who's College Lacrosse's Team of the Week?

College lacrosse is back, and we had an action packed week 1. On this week's brand new episode of Crease Crankers, we break down our team, player, rookie and specialist of the week.

We dove right into why we thought a certain team from the ACC seems to be on a revenge tour and has their sights set on competing during Memorial Day Weekend. The Big Ten had some incredible individual performances, but who took home our Player of the Week honor. Choosing our Rookie of the Week was a more unanimous decision, with an old friend putting on a shooting clinic, while our Specialist of the Week has his sights set on making a name for himself in Division 1.

Team of the Week: Duke Blue Devils

The Blue Devils are off to a flying start after beating Bellarmine 19-7 and High Point 20-8. The attack trio of Andrew McAdorey, Brennan O'Neill, and Dyson Williams is making things look easy early on. We’ll see if the Blue Devils will continue to stay hot in February (history says otherwise) with tough games at Jacksonville, home against Denver, and at UPenn to round out the month.

Player of the Week: Jack Myers, Attack, Ohio State

He's the quarterback of the offense, always seems in control, and has an explosive first step. 4 goals, 5 assists, and most importantly, only 2 turnovers. He has the ball in his stick a lot, and is trusted to always make the right decision.

Rookie of the Week: Micheal Meyer, Attack, Bucknell

6 for 8 shooting in his first collegiate game is enough said. Doesn’t matter who the opposition is, still has to put the ball in the net and he did so in bunches.

Specialist of the Week: Will Helm, Goalie, Duke

24 saves on 34 shots faced through 2 games is good for a 71% save percentage. Transferred in from St. Lawrence and is easily fitting in with his new team. Elite goalie play is what can separate teams come May.

Syracuse, Hopkins - Contender or Pretender?

Week 1 had some tight contests highlighted by Syracuse vs Vermont and Hopkins vs Jacksonville. We need to see more from these storied programs before we buy all the way in on them contending this year, but we discuss this more in depth on this week's episode of Crease Crankers.

Looking Ahead...

Looking forward to this week, I have my eyes LOCKED in on my dawgs from Boston and a few overs I absolutely love - GOALS GOALS GOALS! Will the trend continue of favorites covering spreads or does the parity in college lacrosse make an appearance? Yes I had Jacksonville over Hopkins. Yes I had Vermont over Cuse. Yes I had High Point covering 6.5 vs Duke on Tuesday. But we also had some nice hits in between. We discuss all of this and more as we move on to Week 2 with tons of insight and betting tips on these games.
